RE. quotes in Look book....

I have been thinking more into the idea of having quotes in my look book and was thinking about finding specific quotes for each section.....sooo for the retro sexy, could have some Marilyn Monroe quotes and then in the nautical sailor section could have some quirky sailor quotes or perhaps some Chanel..... These are just ideas though...I need to research more.

So far I have done 30 blog posts on my website...I am un-sure how many more I am going to add as at the moment am running out of ideas! But hopefully after doing some different work I may gain some more ideas!

Lookbook...

I have decided once I have edited my photos I am going to create my Look book on InDesign. As even though I haven't used it before, it is pretty self explanatory! 

Blog within website....

I have just started my blog within website section and am so far liking everything i have done. The blog will just be a simple layout. The blog will be written in a casual way to give my opinion on the best and worst places to shop and the latest curvy news!

FINALLY....

Huzzza! Have finally sorted out the layout for the before and after page!!! Took a lot of re-arranging but its done now!...

Also I thought it was funny to have the 'Before' by the curvy picture and then have 'After Hungry' on the skinny photo!

Layout....

I am really struggling with the layout of the 'Before and After' page....I can't seem to get the right balance!!!! This is my second attempt and I am just not happy with it! 

....Back to the drawing board....Le sigh!

About page....

I am happy with the layout of this pages...however when my images from my photo shoot come back I may change them, to make my website more personal.

Before and after page...

At the moment I am not liking the layout of this page so I need to play around with the images on photoshop a bit and then re-arrange the layout on IWEB.

Website progress..

So far this is what my 'Shape' pages are looking like....I am pretty pleased with them so far and won't change them too much, maybe a few tweaks here and there though. I will also try experimenting with different picture ideas to see if I can improve...

To make my style website individual I could perhaps have links through the pictures so if you see a skirt that you like, there will be a link to the website where you buy it....HOWEVER this is pretty much already being covered in the 'where to shop' section! 

Reviews....

Second reviews have been and gone. It went pretty well....The advice I got given was to perhaps try and push my website more...maybe by doing something that other style websites don't offer (So I need to get my thinking cap on!!!!!)

From the 2nd I will begin editing my photos to go in my look book and in the mean time will be researching into other look books for inspiration and ideas!

Overall...

The two day shoot went amazingly and I mainly put this down to having a great team to work with!!! Many thanks to the models for travelling all the way to Bournemouth, to the hair and make-up team who did a fantastic job and last but definitely not least the photographer!!!

For the next few days I am going to focus back on my website....perhaps creating a sketchbook for this, seeing as I did for the photo shoot as I am very keen to clearly show my journey throughout.

DAY TWO...

Day two of the shoot went swimmingly and we were even finished up half an hour early!...

DAY ONE...

OK so everything started off a bit iffy and I was so nervous as we didn't start the shoot till 1pm...when we were supposed to start at 12pm... after the few hiccups everything ran smoothly and I am very pleased with the outcomes! Here's a couple of (badly taken) backstage photos...

Nautical sailor....

So to start with the Nautical Sailor was going to have a complete natural look, but after seeing these illustrations I am swayed towards having a more quirky hair style, as it still looks very sophisticated and I am loving the idea of having slick black eyeliner and red lipstick!!!

I officially love my make-up artist...

Sooo the day of the shoot is arriving and my FANTASTIC make-up artist (Natalie Lambert) has kindly created a few sketches ready for the shoot for the four different looks.....

FEMININE LACE

As said before the Feminine lace is going to have a real natural and simplistic yet sophisticated feel, These above images pull off this look perfectly!

OK so I was going to be styling and shooting 32 different outfits but realised this was too much, so put it down to 16 outfits, Whilst buying for the shoot I realised this was too much as well. SOO now there is only going to be 8 outfits, in order to get perfect styling and perfect outcomes, rather then lots of awful styled photos!

http://www.shopstyle.co.uk/ is a great help for finding outfits for my upcoming photoshoot...I have been slightly neglecting my research blog, due to shopping till I drop and doing work in my sketchbook....

Website blog...

Within my website I am going to have a blog section of which will be updated every few days with advice on where to shop and latest styles. Will also be providing latest curvy news. The format of this will be in a more laid back written style for example:

Where to shop:

H&M are great for latest trends, they have a plus size range 18-26 which is ideal for the curvier woman. Also generally when buying clothing from H&M a size up is advised. So if your a size 14 go for a 16 and if your a 16 go for an 18 (and so on) for a more comfortable fit.

Wow so recently I have learnt about the site Pinterest...and it is LITERALLY addictive! and so inspiring for ideas for my photo shoot and project! ILOVEPINTEREST.

RE-FONTS

Since my last post after a discussion with Jamie we have both decided the fonts I had chosen were not relevant and it would be best to stick to more casual fonts.

Fonts...

For the look book I want to keep the fonts simple....and perhaps similar to the website fonts...so it all flows well together. 

Also if I keep the fonts simple more attention will be on the photographs of the models.
