Naughty Nautical....

After seeing Anya we have discussed having different looks within the two key looks: so for the 'Sexy retro' look could then have a 'nautical sailor' look...

I am loving this idea and am very excited to decide on further themes and start sourcing my clothing and accessories!

ASOS curve...

For my shoot I am hoping to use mostly ASOS curve clothing and accessories, as all the outfits are really stylish and look good.

I am also in contact with the ASOS Curve buyer! so have the opportunity to ask some questions and grill her about her opinions!! (very exciting stuff to go on the website!)

PHOTOSHOOT HAIRSTYLES

After speaking to photographer I decided to look more into hairstyles and make-up for my shoot, the above would be for 'CANDYGIRL' as is more girly girl and relaxed look.

Initially I had lots of these swirls off illustrator on my website, but after my review we all decided to take the swirls off (as they were irrelevant) and to keep the website looking more simple and clean cut.

For example on each of the shape pages there is only 5 facts now.

I have decided after looking back on my previous designs for my website, that I would much rather keep it simple, as is easier on the eye and looks more professional in my opinion.

Perhaps a bit like the layout above... obviously a little more interesting and jazzed up though!

The Feminine Lace and Nautical Sailor is going to have a natural look and the Candy Girl and Retro Sexy will be over the top with big make-up and hair. Just so theres a bit of contrast going on!!!!

Per look per model there will be one outfit so overall at the end will be 8 outfits!!!

Website general research....

Basically I want my style website to be fun so women want to look, but yet sophisticated at the same time...So I need to find the right balance!

I am going to be creating my website on IWEB which is a programme on the Apple Macs, which will make the whole website process a lot easier!!! I am looking forward to getting started and seeing things develop!

CUSTOMER PROFILE....

I was initially going to aim my style advice at all ages, but in retrospect I think picking a certain genre would work best. Personally and hearing from lots of people my age, it would be good to aim the project more at women in their late teens/twenties/early thirties.

 I am MAINLY using this age group because the models I am using for my look book are this age, so I thought it would make more sense to tie the two together more! 

MODELS update...

I am now only going to  be using two models in my  photo shoot as in my tutorial, everyone felt that the models I had chosen didn't have the right look for my project, so am now focusing on just two gorgeous curvaceous models!

I like the style of these below posts, and will take this on board for when I am putting together my Apple&Pears style advice!

Body shape research 2...

Pears have a larger bottom half than top half. If you are a pear you probably have wide hips, narrower shoulders and a small bust.

Pears should wear clothes that minimise hips and draw attention upwards.

Dresses and skirts should be A-line or flared at the hem with a side zip to minimize bulk around the hips.

Jackets should stop at or above your hips. If it is double breasted or has a detailed collar, it will balance out your silhouette and draw the eye upwards.

Reduce the appearance of your hips with dark trousers that flare below the knee. Wear flat-fronted, side-fastening trousers and avoid pleats, pockets or seams on the hips which will add to your bulk.

If you have chunky legs, wear boots to cover your calves, or platforms to elongate and slim your legs.

Broaden the appearance of your shoulders by wearing tops with boat necklines, ballet necklines, or wide lapels. Tops with capped sleeves or three-quarter length sleeves will also balance out your profile. Add interest to your neckline with scarves and accessories. Tops in bright colours, patterns and textures will also draw attention upwards.

Body shape research

Apples have a round profile, which means they carry weight on their stomach and bust, and tend to have thinner arms and legs.

If you are an apple, wear dresses that fall softly from the bust and have a flared hem to balance out your curves.

Dresses and skirts should be knee length to show off your legs.

Avoid denim jackets or jackets with bulky pockets which will make you look larger. Wear tailored jackets with flare and a simple fastening.

Trousers should be wide leg or flared to balance out the width around your centre. Flat-fronted, side-fastening trousers will minimise unnecessary bulk.

Your slimmest point is just under the bust so wear tops that are tighter here and skim your stomach.

Wedges will show off your slim ankles without making you look top heavy.

Wide-necked or wrap tops will show off your décolletage.

Draw attention upwards to the neck with accessories such as scarves, brooches or soft, rounded collars.
