....

I have checked...double checked and re-double checked all my work and am now pretty certain everything is done and ready for hand in! I feel sooo relieved and am very pleased with the entire project and final outcomes! Just gotta get through Crits on Friday and then I am finished forever (scary!)

(the image above describes exactly how I feel right now!)

....

I have also been toying with idea of having a coloured background on the homepage...as I think the white looks a bit too harsh. However I will get different opinions first before I change anything... TBC.

I have decided to just have one page in colour and the rest in white...as I think the homepage needs to have a statement feel.

Website....

The only problem I feel with my website, is that it looks different on a computer to what it looks like on a Mac. On a mac it looks a lot better, the colour, the resolution and the size. Where as on a computer the fonts overlap in some places which doesn't look great. To overcome this problem though I would recommend people to look at my website on a Mac to see the best aspects.

RE:Look Book

Also I have finally got my look book back and it looks good! There is no mistakes this time which is a huge relief! So now I am all ready to hand in apart from doing final bits of editing!

On the note of the Look Book the only thing I would change next time is to go to a different printing/binding company, so I would perhaps have less problems!

YES and triple YES

My website is finally LIVE on the internet and published! I am soo pleased with the final outcome and to be honest there is not much I would change this time round, if I had the chance though the only thing I would do differently is to do the design on 'Indesign' and then upload to a Iweb as I feel on Indesign you get more freedom and more options compared to 'Iweb' but generally am pleased with the results anyways!

It looks different on an actual computer as opposed to a mac, as the middle section is bigger. But STILL its done and dusted now! I am doing some final tweaks now just to double check it looks alright....but happy days!

Website...

So initially when I published my website, a background appeared of which I didn't know would be there...I played about a bit with colours but have decided this looks a little bit boring, so am going to include and actual image in the background to overcome this problem and to make more interesting.

I am thinking to make the project flow cohesively I am going to use the same background as on my blog, so the pin up women on the bike as I think will look cool!

I was thinking again earlier about how I could take this project forward in the future and one way I feel I could definitely improve the brand is to sell my own 'curvy clothing' with three different areas specifically aimed at 'Apples' 'Pears' and 'Oranges' Is  certainly something I  would like to consider more.

Because I am so pleased with the overall look of the photo shoot I have uploaded it to Pinterest so everyone else can have the pleasure to see it! :D

Covers

I have decided in order to make my little sketch book and red book flow cohesively I will put the same covers on them as the Look Book, I feel it will look more professional. I may also print off my learning agreement and get that bound together with the same cover....again to make it all flow! I am excited that everything is slowly pulling together!

Website domain....

Sooo again had a massive panic today because all of my domain details are saved to my hotmail account which coincidentally has been blocked....but the problem was overcome once I worked out that all was saved on the actual website....phewww. Now all I need to do with the website is double check and then go LIVE

thoughts....

Sooo hand in is on Friday and for the SECOND time my book has been bound wrong...the order is right but this time there is marks on the cover....not going to lie I feel like the printers are trying to ruin my life!!!! but after taking a deep breath I once again realised there is time before hand in to get the book fixed!

Also I'm a bit irritated that I have now paid around £50 for this look book and they have gotten it wrong again! I think I will try and get some of the money back as it has gone wrong and has taken so long for them to get it done right...

Has caused me to feel a slight panic as hand in is only three days away, but fingers crossed when I pick up the book today, all will be correct!

On looking back at all the troubles I have had with printing and binding I was thinking if i was to make a Look book again I would quite like to attempt a 'hand made' book, so that would cut out the issues with printing!

Website

I need to make my website live next week ready for deadline day, so am checking over this and perhaps changing layouts, I will see Jamie next week for advice and then my website will be live online!....Eeeek is a scary thought! But I think as long as a I make sure it all looks cohesive and make sure everything is correct then all will be well!

Bound....

I collected my look book today and GENERALLY am very pleased with the outcome...HOWEVER the order has been mucked up, (is a page out at the beginning which has thrown the entire book out!)

Although this obviously isn't good, due to good time keeping I now have time to take the book back and get it re-bound etc, so now I will retrieve next Tuesday and hopefully it will be in the right order this time!

I could have kept the previous book, but wanted everything to be perrrfect!

...

I am just going to spend the rest of my time before hand in checking and double checking over my work, bulking up my research

Future plans...

Going from a designer to a promoter was definitely a great move for me.... I feel I have learnt so much and have come on in leaps and bounds. I also feel far more confident within promotion then I ever did with designing! So from this I am hoping to take this forward in the future!

evaluations...

I have been looking over my learning agreement and am pretty pleased with that, I will tweak a few sections so it is more relevant.

I am also going to begin writing up my evaluations on the whole projects.

Generally I am very pleased with how everything has gone so far and am actually impressed (for once) at my time management skillzzz. But anyways I will go into more depth on my actual evaluation!

Look book...

So I have taken my look book to be printed and bound!!!
I am getting my book 'Perfect bound' and in glossy paper...so will be exactly like a look book magazine! I am genuinely so excited to see the final outcome as feel I have worked hard to pull everything together in good time!!!

Altogether the book is going to cost around £25...which is really cheap considering if I sent the book away it would have cost double!

LookBook

I have had my look book checked by both Anya and Jamie, and have made the changes they suggested to improve the Look Book and now feel fully ready to send off the book to be printed and bound!

The only things Anya said to change was the layout of some pages and one of my images...of which looked like the model had a broken back! (is good to get second opinions because I have been looking at my work soooo much I start to not notice things...so is good to look outside the box!)

And Jamie just told me to change font sizes....

I AM SO NERVOUS ABOUT SEEING THE FINAL BOOK....Hope it doesn't F**K up!!!!

Bibliography....

I have also decided on my bibliography page in my Look Book I am going to have my backstage images of the photo shoot, to make it a little bit more interesting! Heres a sneak peak! :

Change of plans now within my LookBook I am taking the bibliography, Contents and info pages out! to make it more professional.... But will keep all my research on my blog, as is showing my development and ideas throughout....

Thoughts so far....

I am so far really pleased with my website, seeing as I have never made one from scratch before I think I have done well! I am not going to make may changes, but will tweak small as I go along, to improve. I will continue to look at other websites to gain more inspiration.

I don't want to make tooo many changes as I like how my website is simple and easy to use. If i were to make a website again, I might possibly use a different programme as I have found that Iweb doesn't offer that much

(thought the image above was relevant as when I started my project I was very worried I wouldn't be able to achieve a website as had no previous practise)

Welcome page....

This is the new welcome page, I much prefer having my own image, although I picked one which was similar to the picture I first used as liked the style of it

layout website

Now that I have all my final images I am going to replace the images on my website with my own images to make it more personal and to make it more obvious that the website and Look Book are Cohesive together

Look book

I am getting my LookBook printed at my university in a 'perfect bind' which is basically the book being glued together... The size of the book is going to be A4 to get the best outcome and will have a magazine sheen to the paper!

I am SO very excited to get this all done...will only take two days to get done so I am well ahead of time (3 weeks) so now have LOTS of time to double/triple check everything, research more and ensure I can get the best grade possible!

Look Book thoughts....

I am actually loving my Look book, Now that I have gotten past the brick wall that was stopping me before, the layouts are all falling into place and I am pleased with how its all looking!

I am using mainly my own images, but to make the pages more interesting! I was going to include quotes but really want to focus more on the photography! So far so good, I will tweak as i go along

Look book Progress...

FINALLY! Huzzah! I am making progress on the Look Book....Basically with the layout problem I am now just putting all the images onto the page and then laying them out in a suitable. I have also decided on completly different fonts, because the fonts I chose before are not in context with the project

Here is one of my pages in my Look Book!

layout inspiration...

I am still struggling with layouts so have done more research to gain more inspiration.

From looking at the above images I have decided to have a clean cut look for my book, because I think it looks more professional.

I am realllly struggling with the contents page! think I need to take a step back and start again as artists block is getting in the way!

I have also decided that I am not going to use this layout, but is good to start somewhere..

Look Book

I am struggling with the layout and style of the Look book but am slowly getting there....I like this layout but will see how I feel after I have added more pages and maybe go back to it

Contents page....

Been researching online for inspiration for my contents page...as I don't want it to look boring. heres two that I think look really good and interesting

Thoughts on front cover....

I am a little bit disappointed I have ended up using a different cover to all of my test designs, as I spent such a long time on design development for them, but I suppose at the end of the day all the design development helped towards getting the final outcome, so was worth all the research, time and photo-shopping!

Cover...

Now that I have all my edited photos I am so unsure of which one to pick for the cover...I want it to be fun yet sexy, in order to portray my project well....so going back to earlier blog posts on the cover... I will use these for inspiration to style the edited photos

I quite like this...but think the image area needs cropping

Photos...

Have finally got my photos for the Lookbook! so am going to start putting together my look book together today....I have three days to get this done! I am very nervous but feel quietly confident...

Ally Holiday

I lurrrve this photo!
BIG thanks to Veronica Skoglund for her fantastic photograpyhy skills! and to the amazing make-up artists Natalie Lambert and Lizzie Paine!

Reviews....

Reviews were really helpful today as my tutors looked through my work to see where I was at in the grading matrix, I am pretty pleased so far but feel I need to up my work load, and be more specific in my blog posts so that I can achieve higher grades...when my look book is sent off I am going to go back and create a 'journey' of my project....either in the form of a sketch book or a separate blog page!

Re:fonts

I have decided to use 'Cooper Black' for my titles as is fun and interesting, then for all the small print I will use Helvetica to tie in with my website

Fonts for look book

So I had decided I was going to use the same font as on my website...but have been looking into others just incase!...

I quite like the last font, quite sophisticated.. I am also thinking to perhaps use different fonts for each section of the look book to fit in with each specific theme because will make the book look more interesting...but perhaps less cohesive... I will test this out when putting my look book together

.....

Pinterest.

I like the fonts in this Look Book and the way the page numbers are written (blah blah blah...more inspiration!)

I was also inspired by the simple background above and think perhaps having the background in front is too much....(really doesn't help being so indecisive)

Look book contents...

I quite like how in this look book its not just fashion....obviously in my look book it will just be fashion...but then I could add colour palettes too!

https://pinterest.com/pin/101049585358646757/

Wow...

SO I didn't realise how many post I had done about the Look Book cover...so for now I am going to give that a rest and try thinking about my other work that needs doing....maybe a cheeky bit of pinterest for inspiration

Covers...

I really reallly like this cover, because again although its not entirely similar to my project it really inspires me with the different colours and colour against the black and white has big impact and makes the image look more fun. Definitely an inspiration to take forward for me.

covers....

http://pinterest.com/pin/112801165636902359/

Although none of my images are like these I really like the layout and style...could take some inspiration if I am not happy with my previous designs.

......

I quite like this image too..... I will show all these in review to get my tutors opinions so then I know which one to go for!

(too dark^ ?)

Okkk think I like this...but i am SO indecisive....so will do more designs to gain an idea...

I really like the above image....

......

I quite like this....but am not too sure on all the red...maybe could have a black background like in the post below...

Could possibly try something like the above image....fading the image in the background completely out and focusing more on the name etc...

DVF Lookbook

I am lovinggg this look book! I really like how its ring bound together...so thats something to consider for my look book!....

.......

I really like this magazine cover and the simplicity....so maybe when I receive my final images I can pick an over the shoulder view.
http://simplystated.realsimple.com/2012/02/13/body-shapers-for-curvy-women/

I like the idea of perhaps having smaller apples and pears in front of the models....more subtle?! I will give it a try as will all help towards my thought process

cover research....

Because I am slightly struggling with ideas for my Look Book cover, I have been researching into magazine covers for inspiration....

I like this cover because its quite simple, but would still put across the point of curves.

I really like this...maybe could play about with some quirky quotes about curves? and could have the 'Apple or Pear' in the corner, like they have the circle in the corner... back to the drawing board...

I tried the background idea but with my pears theme....I quite like it, but looks quite childish

cover ideas continued....

This is the version with the apples and the pears...however might look too cluttered especially on a small A4 or A3 cover

I think the background looks much better in colour....but then again does a little crowded still....so will play about with different layouts (EVENTUALLY I will find a layout that I like!)
